"This Week in Fingerstyle" curated by  Daryl Shawn ! Put your headphones on or AirPods in and disappear into these wonderful sounds! First up is Casper Esmann 's perfect cover of Cold Play's "Yellow"! Casper brings his unique "shimmering crystal clear sound" to make this a cover to remember! Really wonderful rendition that I will play over & over again! "Bella Volte" by Kurt Lanham is beautiful with just a little bit of "grit" that makes it stand out and demand notice! This is easily "top ten" stuff on any radio station or playlist! Well done! "Blue Skies" is the latest cover by Mathew Joseph ! Mathew has a signature sound that I love and it makes this old classic

An enchanting piece that hints of slow jazz in a quiet intimate setting. Peter has some really nice lead runs in here that you can really sink your teeth into and slide off into a memorable evening! Well done Peter!!!! Whalebone treats us to some Celtic beauty with "The Otter's Holt"! With sweet images of heather and mist while the sun struggles to break through. Imagery can be everything in music and Whalebone nailed this traditional reel whisking us away to the Emerald Isle within the first few bars. Perfect! "Ho'ona

"Artistry Tuesday" Featuring Emilio Bonito September 17, 2019 by  Randal L Meek "www.randalsview.blog" Emilio Bonito has the face of a boy, plays like a god, and channels emotion into a powerful musical river! That is how I would describe Emilio Bonito. A musical prodigy, born and raised in the “music city” of Hamilton, Ontario Emilio began playing the piano at the age of 4 and the guitar at age 10 (so that he could “rock out”!). At an age when most of us were watching “Mr. Rogers” Emilio was already living the credo that has brought to him to his current place in the world “In a year from now, you’ll wish you started today!” Classically trained with a decade of study and training at the Royal Conservatory of Music, Emilio emerged as an artist. That artist has technical skills that rival anyone on the planet, but what sets him apart is his immense capacity for channeling emotion into music. Compositional talent is different than performance

A little bit of jangle, a little bit of percussion, a little bit of flamenco with a

Sept. 10, 2019: "Artistry Tuesday" featuring Mathew Joseph!

"Artistry Tuesday" Featuring  Mathew Joseph September 10, 2019 by  Randal L Meek "www.randalsview.blog" Mathew Joseph is a rare, quiet, virtual tsunami in both talent and power. A humble and gracious man whose talent and accomplishments could have easily created a boastful and insufferable ego, instead there developed this gentle, peaceful man with talent as expansive as the world his music tries to fuse. Growing up in a small town in western India in a family of rare mother & father medical doctors, Mathew was destined for a career in medicine. With a love affair for music and the guitar that began with an old warped-neck arch-top he acquired from an uncle at the age of ten, Mathew's formal musical training was limited to a few guitar lessons that his father drove him to many miles from home. With that genesis, like so many other creative talents, Mathew was off and running on his own; however, at the insistence of his family, a ca

First up is "Take the Flowers" by Michelle Qureshi  from her latest (and perhaps best yet) album "Sage". Soft, flowing, beautiful and everything works and fits together on this song and this whole album. This is a beautiful song on a beautiful album by an artist who knows who she is and what she wants to say! What a beautiful way to wake up and enjoy the day! Did I mention that this is "beautiful"? Wonderful work Michelle! "Cherokee Lake" by Dustin Furlow is from Dustin's latest album "Woodscapes" and its a thriller! A master at percussive technique, here

At the still young age of 30, this multi-instrumentalist musician, who is also a talented graphic artist, has a list of musical bands and groups that include Realizer , Grandpa Jack , Dead Seconds , Berma, Blue Fold and Open Palm and collaborations with Charles Ellsworth, Tommy Berre, Denis Turbide, Matt Tondut, Kyle McEvoy, Antarctic Wastelands, Anna Wilhelm, and The Field Tapes! This is one busy and talented man! Having grown up in North Carolina, music is in Matt’s blood. With first musical influences including Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Eric Clapton, Matt has gone far beyond these blues and rock legends to find his own vast space that now spans from hard psychedelic rock to ambient and folk. And Matt doesn’t just dabble, he masters each
