"The most exciting playlist on Spotify" reloaded again for a great Monday morning! "This Week in Fingerstyle" curated by Daryl Shawn! Put your headphones on or AirPods in and disappear into these wonderful sounds!

First up is "The Calm" by Nashville fingerstylist/singer/songwriter extraordinaire Tim Thompson! The perfect song to wake up to on a Monday morning! Soft, intricate and gives the feeling of floating calmly on a still ocean waiting for the sun to slowly rise. Beautiful, calming and the perfect song for the start of any day!

"Lady Lavender" by Ontario, Canada based Joel Saunders is next. Joel is another of the many talented young guitarists rising up from the north and keeping Canada on the musical map! A little bit of jangle, a little bit of percussion, a little bit of flamenco with a delightful harmonics ending, and just WOW from start to finish! Joel Saunders has arrived both in the music world and on "This Week in Fingerstyle!" Welcome!

"August Flendahl" never disappoints and never fails to find that sweet, melodic perfect state of existence that just seems to hang in the air keeping us floating on nylon wings for the entire piece! "All The Light We Cannot See" is another beautiful one to add to the repertoire! Well done August Flendahl!

When I first heard Jurg Kindle's "Aquaeductus" earlier this week my eyes opened wide as saucers and my ears perked up! This is a tremendous new piece in the classical genre that we just don't get enough of nowadays. Few guitarists have the training to create a piece of this depth and sophistication and that is where Jurg Kindle is unique! With decades of classical training, performance and composition he has delivered another world-class piece that absolutely shines! So glad that Daryl Shawn picked this one for "This Week!" Every aspiring guitarist should listen to this piece many, many times in order to hear and feel what is possible with the guitar and where it came from. I bow and tip my hat Jurg Kindle, Bravo!

"Limestone" by Realizer (Matt C. White) & Jake Calonius is another collaboration that brings us a sweet, melodic treat that swings gently back and forth between the strings and hands of these two talented artists! Although soft and sweet, this piece fills the air with a wall of beautiful nylon string sound. Delightful!

"Falling Petals" is my own (Randal L Meek) release of this week that brings sweet notes that seem to fall gently like petals almost suspended in air. This song was released this week on the Valley View Records Label as part of a compilation album, "Dream Chasers, Vol. 1", with many other fine artists and I'm proud to be a part of the project and to have this song chosen for "This Week"! (This is also the perfect album name that captures what I've been trying to do for the last year! And to have another piece chosen for "This Week" is the realization of this "chase"!)

"Lose Yourself" by Luca Stricagnoli shows off his "crazy guitar skills"! Innovative and unique, Luca is taking the guitar to places it's never been and pulling us along on the ride! Absolutely inspiring!

"Shimmer of You" is David Westin's just-released piece under the name "Nylonwings" with a beautiful, haunting melody that is both firmly rooted yet soars! A beautiful piece by a tremendous artist! If you want inspiration on a Monday morning, this is the one to listen to and soar to your own new heights!

"Middle of Nowhere" by Jacques Stotzem has an "old world" feel, a little dark, foreboding, and sparse that takes us to a haunting place with grey clouds and wet mist. Like a walk alone and absorbed into a bleak landscape. A very evocative piece!

And finally, "Center" by one of my favorite new artists, Lunng Fern! Lunng has one of the most unique sounds out there today. A mix of gypsy, flamenco and his own unique style, I can listen to Lunng's music for hours totally enthralled and focused on the moment. His newest, "Center" is the perfect piece to get me "centered" for the start of another busy hectic week where I'll hopefully have the chance to listen to much more of Lunng Fern's "one-of-a-kind" sound!

Daryl Shawn, thank you again for making my Monday mornings a very special and exciting part of every week!

And that's it for another "This Week in Fingerstyle" by Daryl Shawn who every week puts together "the most exciting playlist on Spotify"!
