In the midst of the continuing COVID-19 "worldwide madness" out there, it seems even more important to find some normalcy in our routines: Daryl Shawn has come through for us again with "This Week in Fingerstyle" on time and beautiful as always!

"This Week in Fingerstyle" curated by Daryl Shawn is where you'll find the absolute best that true "Indie" has to offer in the world of fingerstyle! Daryl does all the selecting of the tunes, I just make a few comments. Put your headphones on or AirPods in and disappear into these wonderful sounds as we check out what gems Daryl found for us this week! "This Week" now has over 500 "Followers" enjoying this weekly treat!
First up is "The Stans, Pt. 1" by Ali Deniz Kardelen! A tour de force of technique, eastern influence and mastery! Just a real treat to start the week!
"Into the Half Light" by Agustin Amigó is innovative and fascinatingly reminiscent of "Metallica". The unique arpeggios give this one its melody line and edge! Cutting edge beautiful!
"The Foal" by Realizer (Matt C. White) & Maneli Jamal is soft & sweet evoking visions of the comfort of a lovely stable with fresh hay and new life.
With "Scarborough Fair" Whalebone takes this classic and gives it the precision of a fine classic timepiece! Each beat falls with perfection at an ever so slightly slowed down pace that allows you to savor each note. Wonderful!
Drew Alkema revs things up with a track off his new "Goon Saloon" album. Seven songs each with an unmistakable old west feel but executed with modern fingerstyle technique. A wonderful song that is part of a tremendous new album. Well done Drew!
"Svermere" by August Flendahl is a beautiful dance that takes you on a lovely turn around the entire dance floor! Even if you swear you can't dance, you can pull this one dance off with August to guide you and your partner around the floor!
"I Like Me Better" is Latvian fingerstyle sensation, Vadim Kobal's cover of Lauv's hit. Nice!!!
"Whispering Hope" by the inimitable Mathew Joseph is a hymn of hope. It is beautiful, reassuring and so needed today! Thank you Mathew!
"Rumo ao Norte" by Fábio Bittencourt has a compelling western sound that calls to and grabs you. You cannot ignore this one, it successfully keeps you transfixed until the end. Love it!
"Lamalama l'a" is beautiful "swinging in a hammock" slack key by Lance Takamiya that makes you long for the islands! I could listen to this one all afternoon on a warm day with a Mai Tai or iced tea in hand! Mahalo Lance!
