In the midst of the current COVID-19 "worldwide madness" out there, it seems even more important to find some normalcy in our routines: Daryl Shawn has come through for us with "This Week in Fingerstyle" on time and beautiful as always!

"The most exciting playlist on Spotify" reloaded again for a great Monday morning! "This Week in Fingerstyle" curated by Daryl Shawn is where you'll find the absolute best that true "Indie" has to offer in the world of fingerstyle! Daryl does all the selecting of the tunes, I just make a few comments. Put your headphones on or AirPods in and disappear into these wonderful sounds as we check out what gems Daryl found for us this week!

First up is "Bella Ciao" by Maneli Jamal! An amazing musician and composer, Maneli thrills with every song and this is another in a long line. A sensitive and emotional rendition of the Italian protest folk song that was sung by the women paddy field workers in the 19th century who sang it to protest the harsh work conditions, and later adopted as an anti-fascist resistance song. You can feel the authenticity and heartache in this one. Beautifully done Maneli!

"Dew Drops" by Agustin Amigo & Mathew Joseph is as sweet as drops of dew on a beautiful morning! Two incredible musicians working in perfect harmony to create a seamless flow of harmony from two guitars. Delightful!

"Deepening" by Andrew York! When I first heard this the other day I messaged Annette and told her that I hadn't thought it possible, but that Andrew York, already at the top of the musical world, is actually getting even better! The deep emotions in Andrew York's latest work is stunning, incredible and palpable! With "Home" and now "Deepening", I'm not sure where he can go, but I am on the edge of my seat listening intently to these beautiful works!

"My Blues Way" by Giangi Sainato is part of the just released "Handmade Guitars" on the Raighes Factory label. Sweet guitar and saxophone that will spirit you away in your mind to the hippest blues club on the planet! Wow!

"Open Fields" by two artists that give us a folky piece with just a hint of Celtic. Both Stephen Wake and Rick Cyge are such Celtic masters that it just sort of "sneaks" into this piece throughout. It's a beautiful, soft but airy piece that does give you the feeling of "open fields" that just happen to be filled with the beautiful guitar sounds of two incredible artists! Well done!

"La Rosa Blanca" by August Flendahl hits that sweet spot with just a touch of spanish guitar sound, a little melancholy and romance. August, you are on a roll with some sweet sounds!

"Restless Windmill" by Roberto Dalla Vecchia is incredible both in its execution as well as its composition. Every once in a while a piece hits me with the intense feeling that this one could find itself on a variety of traditional charts: folk, soft-rock, or new age. Just incredible musicianship on every level! Bravo Roberto!

"Latino Corazon" by Marcelo Berestovoy is romantic, intense, and exotic. This is a dance that ends with passion! Exquisite and evocative, Marcelo has created an image that sears itself into my mind and leaves me begging to visit this romantic, intense and exotic spot!

"Soothing Waves" by Robert Dahlstrom reminds me of the serenity of the ocean when the temperature is perfect, the waves are placid and the sun glitters on the water. Indeed soothing!

"Water of Leith" is one of four songs yesterday that had me asking "Alexa, what song is playing?" When the answer was "This is 'Water of Leith' by Roberto Diana", I just smiled to know that my friend from Sardinia had done it again: created musical perfection! Roberto is one of those performers who can command attention to such a degree that silence and intent listening are all that is possible when he either stands on stage or his beautiful work echoes from the speakers. An incredible musician, whose work just makes my heart fill with the knowledge that I am listening to perfection. Thank you Roberto!

And don't stop there! Remember that all the past selections follow the new top ten starting with "Pushing Rainbows" by Michelle Qureshi from last year's "Sage" album!

Daryl Shawn, thank you again for making my Monday mornings a very special and exciting part of every week!

And that's it for another "This Week in Fingerstyle" by Daryl Shawn who every week puts together "the most exciting playlist on Spotify"!

Remember to "Follow/Heart/Like" the playlist that Daryl Shawn so painstakingly creates every week!
