In the midst of the continuing COVID-19 "worldwide madness" out there, it seems even more important to find some normalcy in our routines: Daryl Shawn has come through for us again with "This Week in Fingerstyle" on time and beautiful as always!

"The most exciting playlist on Spotify" reloaded again for a great Monday morning! "This Week in Fingerstyle" curated by Daryl Shawn is where you'll find the absolute best that true "Indie" has to offer in the world of fingerstyle! Daryl does all the selecting of the tunes, I just make a few comments. Put your headphones on or AirPods in and disappear into these wonderful sounds as we check out what gems Daryl found for us this week! "This Week" now has over 500 "Followers" enjoying this weekly treat!

First up is "Badlands" by the long-standing talent of John Standefer! A gritty, american-west style tune that would make the perfect theme for a dusty intense western! Nice work John!

"Fair" by Realizer and Czarina Frost is one of the stellar tunes on the just-released "Cambium" album. This whole album is like refined, new age, folk and just so compelling! "Fair" is beautiful as is every single tune on this album. Each tune is a collaboration between "Realizer" (Matt C White) and another stellar talent. In the case of "Fair" we are treated with the work of Dillan Witherow as "Czarina Frost". Just tremendous!!

"Luttrell" by Tommy Emmanuel, well what can I say? There is a reason this guy can pack any auditorium or other venue! Just sit back and enjoy the ride and, if you are an aspiring fingerstyle artist like me, you might want to wipe that little bit of drool off your chin!

"Recuerdos de Verano" is a collaboration between "Nylonwings" (David Westin) & Tommy Berre and at the risk of employing a trite, campy, american slang phrase "It don't get no better than this!" Just a beautiful melody made to sing by two of the finest nylon string guitarists you'll ever have the pleasure of listening to. Beautiful!

"Morning Has Broken" is Bill Russell's gift as a cover of Cat Stevens' epic tune! One of the most poignant tunes of the 70's, most everyone in the world instantly recognizes this one and Bill's version is beautiful!

"Buzz Pop" by Elson Complex & Edy Hafler is the work of two pseudonym monikers whose underlying identities' brilliance is so intense that there are just not enough platforms to provide full exposure for these two talented artists; hence, pseudonyms help "broaden the stage". A beautiful work by these two! Just a smooth as musical silk! "Diaphonous web" is perhaps an overused phrase, but fits this song perfectly: intricate, beautiful, and delicate in a way that pulls you in and captures you!

"Soulmate" by Jürg Kindle is romantic, spanish neoclassical that just sings with emotion and depth! Jürg can do anything with a stringed instrument and he does! Another perfect tune Jürg Kindle. This one should find itself everywhere!

"Road To Haleakala" is another collaboration with me enjoying the lanai on the island of Maui in January and Tommy Berre, as "Elgafar", dreaming of Maui while enjoying cold, wintery Norway! I definitely got the better half of this collaboration accommodation arrangement! I put together the "island feel" structure and then the real brilliance was added by Tommy who managed to pull off that breezy, mellow, signature Hawaiian island sound! I love working with this unbelievably talented musician because I know that whatever I send him will come back magnified into a beautiful sound! Just a folky, laid-back, breezy celebration of a drive from the Hawaiian ocean to the top of 10,000 foot Haleakala. The actual "Road To Haleakala" is a wonderful drive through many different climates, flora & fauna ending in the spectacular view from Haleakala's peak! I believe we captured this drive in music and if you get the chance, take that trip, drive that road, and you will be forever just a little more relaxed!

"Store Street" by Basil Wahn is some tasty fingerstyle treats that flow like a lazy afternoon walk down your favorite pedestrian street really enjoying the sights and sounds with no destination and no timetable. Really beautiful walk in music!

"Without You" is a sweet cover by Fin Moon who is the pseudonym moniker that allows the incredible talented multi-instrumentalist John Clark to indulge us in the beauty of his guitar with no other "distractions". I'm loving this new Fin Moon and his work. Can't wait for the next one!

And don't stop there! Remember that all the past selections follow the new top ten starting with "La Compagna" by Jürg Kindle!

Daryl Shawn, thank you again for making my Monday mornings a very special and exciting part of every week!
