In the midst of the continuing COVID-19 "worldwide madness" out there, it seems even more important to find some normalcy in our routines: Daryl Shawn has come through for us again with "This Week in Fingerstyle" on time and beautiful as always!

"The most exciting playlist on Spotify" reloaded again for a great Monday morning! "This Week in Fingerstyle" curated by Daryl Shawn is where you'll find the absolute best that true "Indie" has to offer in the world of fingerstyle! Daryl does all the selecting of the tunes, I just make a few comments. Put your headphones on or AirPods in and disappear into these wonderful sounds as we check out what gems Daryl found for us this week!

First up is "The Wide Ocean" by the master of fingerstyle Tommy Emmanuel. Nothing else need be said: perfect!

"Empty Street" by Agustin Amigo & Denis Turbide is a new beautiful collaboration by Agustin & Denis. Both artists are regulars on "Peaceful Guitar" and this song is a perfect example of why: beautiful balance, sweet melody with just a touch of melancholy. This one is over far too soon!

"Dancing Waves" by Mathew Joseph has that beautiful "happy world fusion" sound that just flows from Mathew! Makes me long for the carefree days of dancing waves on the sand. Well done!

"Adagio" by Victor Howe, who also has a "signature sound" with a crisp, clear treble, shows off Vic's use of arpeggios in a neoclassical, melancholy & romantic style. Just about as sweet and romantic as you can get!

"Kindness" by Ken Verheecke, wow! Ken's songs always manage to put me in the mood for just staring into the heavens on a blue-sky, white puffy cloud day! I swear Ken lives on one of those white puffies in the sky and his music certainly comes from there and takes you there!

"Fattig bonddrång" is a happy little European folk song about a poor farmworker that Georg Nielsen manages to pull the very essence from. Visions of traditional European dance costumes and polite, structured dance are wafting through my head! Nice!

"The Path of the Wind" by Will Moore is Will's cover of Joe Hisaishi's piece from the Japanese animated fantasy film "My Neighbor Totoro". A beautiful piece of guitar work that pulls this piece from the world of anime to the world of fingerstyle!

"The Chants That Bring Us Home" by Lunng Fern & All the Raw Melodies is absolutely beautiful. Lunng has a wonderful, unique flamenco/gypsy style that always pierces straight to the heart and taps directly into raw emotions even when the piece is only a minute long. I love Lunng's work and style!

"Prairie Serenade", a duet by Rick Cyge, is pure beautiful nylon string guitar set in the red rock world of Sedona, AZ. This one sings with Rick's sweet guitar work and pulls off a harmony that just won't quit. Beautiful Rick!

"Waiting" by James Bartholomew is like a beautiful musical calculus proof where each note is measured, calculated and placed in the perfect sequence needed to complete the proof. I'd love to see the standard notation for this piece as it must be as beautiful as the actualized sound! Calculated musical bliss!

And don't stop there! Remember that all the past selections follow the new top ten starting with "Rocket Man" by The String Revolution!

Daryl Shawn, thank you again for making my Monday mornings a very special and exciting part of every week!

And that's it for another "This Week in Fingerstyle" by Daryl Shawn who every week puts together "the most exciting playlist on Spotify"!

Remember to "Follow/Heart/Like" the playlist that Daryl Shawn so painstakingly creates every week!
