In the midst of the continuing COVID-19 "worldwide madness" out there, it seems even more important to find some normalcy in our routines: Daryl Shawn has come through for us again with "This Week in Fingerstyle" on time and beautiful as always!

"The most exciting playlist on Spotify" reloaded again for a great Monday morning! "This Week in Fingerstyle" curated by Daryl Shawn is where you'll find the absolute best that true "Indie" has to offer in the world of fingerstyle! Daryl does all the selecting of the tunes, I just make a few comments. Put your headphones on or AirPods in and disappear into these wonderful sounds as we check out what gems Daryl found for us this week!

First up is "Tita" by Derek Gripper! Fascinating and compelling, like a sound you've never heard before from the guitar! Wow, what a way to start the week!

"The Carpenter" by Mark Grundhoefer shows off his skill as a folk/new age picker! "In the zone" and zeroing in on a perfect sound with a haunting melody that is like a walk in a darkening forest with only the faintest trail. Mark knows where he is going and escorts us through these thick woods. Just tremendous!

"Ice Fishing Alone" by Chapman Stick artist Andy Salvanos! The isolation and cold, silent beauty are palpable as Andy captures an icy landscape in sound. A long day ahead with perhaps a reward underneath the ice, but if not, the sonic beauty is enough for this day. Beautiful Andy!

"Nostalgia" by Jürg Kindle is like quiet reflective thoughts teased out of the guitar with no pressing destination, just meandering as if curled up in a bay window overlooking the Swiss Alps lost in thought. Lovely.

"Shallow" is the Lady Gaga "A Star is Born" cover done by Ulli Boegershausen. Fascinating choice by Ulli who refines this song and takes the raw edge off, leaving only the sheer beauty of the tune. Fascinating!

"Makena Morning" is a collaboration by Tommy Berre (Elgafar) and me and was my introduction into the world of collaborations! My part recorded on a lanai one morning in Makena, Maui overlooking the Hawaiian pacific ocean with a view of a mother humpback whale and her calf just lolly-gagging in the calm water while the Hawaiian birds chattered in the background. Tommy, in Norway, added his part that made the song really sing and we were done in 24 hours from 6,354 miles apart. Just calm, folky musings with a cup of coffee on the lanai. Life doesn't get much more relaxed or beautiful than this and we captured that feeling in this song! A beautiful reflection of a "Makena Morning!"

"The Fledgling" by multi-instrumentalist Nik Davies captures the pure joy and excitement of taking that first leap and learning to fly. No more earthly bounds, the sky is the limit! Love Nik's guitar playing and compositions that always seem to flow like a perfectly executed dance!

"Dream Tide" by Hawaii-based Lance Takamiya is beautiful with a refined island sound! Lovely, lush and warm like the islands themselves. Makes me want to return as soon as possible to this one-of-a-kind spot! Mahalo Lance!

"One Track Mind" by Thomas Coleman sings like a man who knows exactly where he is going and how long it takes to get there! No breaks here, just straight to the destination and entertaining us every step along the way! Wonderful!

"Hope" by A Jackson Sound is the perfect song to close out the new top ten during another week of worldwide lockdown. Despite the grief, the devastation and the heartache, there is hope and Andy gives this hope its own sound. Thank you Andy!

And don't stop there! Remember that all the past selections follow the new top ten starting with "Woke" by the incredible talents of Kyle McEvoy (The Field Tapes) & Matt Tondut

Daryl Shawn, thank you again for making my Monday mornings a very special and exciting part of every week!

And that's it for another "This Week in Fingerstyle" by Daryl Shawn who every week puts together "the most exciting playlist on Spotify"!

Remember to "Follow/Heart/Like" the playlist that Daryl Shawn so painstakingly creates every week!
