"The most exciting playlist on Spotify" reloaded again for a great Monday morning! "This Week in Fingerstyle" curated by Daryl Shawn is where you'll find the absolute best that true "Indie" has to offer in the world of fingerstyle! Daryl does all the selecting of the tunes, I just make a few comments. Put your headphones on or AirPods in and disappear into these wonderful sounds as we check out what gems Daryl found for us this week!

First up is "Soft Landing" by Tommy Berre & Denis Turbide! Some of the sweetest sounds you'll ever hear are by these two artists and when they team up: Wow! If you need a fix of beautiful sweet sounds, this one will do it on a cold Monday morning! Another fantastic work by Tommy & Denis!

"Echoes of Arisaig" by the talented multi-instrumentalist Ken Smith is a wonderful choice for the #2 spot on "This Week". Starting out with beautiful guitar and adding a little piano & strings we are transported to the village of Arisaig on the west coast of the Scottish Highlands. This is a beautiful meld of instruments that truly captures a Scottish airy feeling that only a few artists could pull off: Ken Smith shows us that he is at the top of his game and taking the music world by storm with each new piece!

"Festival" by Matt Harp is tremendous modern fingerstyle technique set to a beautiful melody. Very difficult technique and fingerwork with harmonics that are stunning, Matt pulls this all off with aplomb! One of today's masters of fingerstyle and the percussive style! Bravo!

"Colorful Sails" by Lance Allen captures a haunting but hopeful mood with this sonic landscape honoring the tall ships and the salt air! Just sit back and visualize a voyage on the high seas and you will be wondrously transported to a time when life and limb depended on these "colorful sails" and the unpredictable winds. Well done!

"Walking in Paris" by Will Moore is just beautiful! A two & a half minute trip to one of the great cities of the world you will likely have a strange craving for the nearest patisserie or just a sit in the jardin des tuileries! Totally captivating!

"Saddest Song" by Elson Complex is like sonic tears that flood the ground with emotion, but the sound is simply too beautiful to leave you truly unhappy. Pangs of emotion punctuate this beautiful work! Beautiful!

Following that saddest of songs, the always upbeat Glenn Roth whips us right back up with the timeless "Sweet Caroline" that will have you standing on your feet for the chorus! Great job Glenn!

Very few do Celtic music today as well as the incomparable Stephen Wake and "The Break of Dawn" is another in his vast repertoire of perfectly executed celtic wonders. If you can't arrange for that trip to the Emerald Isle or Scotland this decade, put on the beautiful music of Stephen Wake and be transported for as long as you wish. Stephen is indeed one of today's masters of Celtic!!! "Mo ghoirm thú!"

"Together" by Robert Dahlström is a musical treasure that builds to a crescendo and then just floats high above the ground in a sonic trip to soft billowy clouds of wondrous sound! You won't want to come down!

"Redemption" by Marco Pisani closes out the new top ten with a tantalizing cover of Bob Marley & The Wailers timeless beauty! What a delight! Marco delivers a version that will bring tears and is true to the original. Just tremendous!

And don't stop there! Remember that all the past selections follow the new top ten starting with George Erixon's (aka Tommy Berre's) lovely rendition of the Abba classic "Fernando!"

Daryl Shawn, thank you again for making my Monday mornings a very special and exciting part of every week!

And that's it for another "This Week in Fingerstyle" by Daryl Shawn who every week puts together "the most exciting playlist on Spotify"!
