"The most exciting playlist on Spotify" reloaded again for a great Monday morning! "This Week in Fingerstyle" curated by Daryl Shawn is where you'll find the absolute best that true "Indie" has to offer in the world of fingerstyle! Daryl does all the selecting of the tunes, I just make a few comments. Put your headphones on or AirPods in and disappear into these wonderful sounds as we check out what gems Daryl found for us this week!

First up is "Hiding Place For The Moon" by Antoine Dufour, Van Larkins & Trevor Gordon Hall. Three of the best on this planet teaming up to find a hiding place for the moon! Wherever they are, I'd be thrilled to tag along and check out this incredible spot where this music was created! Perfect synchrony, and dazzling, wow!

"See You Soon" by Casper Esmann is signature Casper with that incredible brilliance he brings to the stage both with his playing and his composition. I can listen to Casper's music all day long, all week long, all year long. What always strikes me in addition to the incredible melodies is that brilliant almost bursting treble range that he combines with the rich base to achieve a sound that is unmistakably Casper!

"Bésame Mucho" is Marcelo Berestovoy jamming out on a tune that you will recognize even if you can't place the name or the composer! A small romantic café, a bottle of rioja and I'd be set to listen to Marcelo all evening! Just intoxicating!

"Wider Than Words" is immediately recognizable as Ken Verheecke and you won't be disappointed! Ken always manages that soaring feeling that makes you feel like you can float endlessly suspended above the ground. Another beautiful piece by Ken!

"Counterpoint Boundaries, Homage to Michael Hedges" by Michael Chapdelaine is a beautiful tribute to one of the masters who, of course, inspired us all. At 7:32 in length this is a piece that allows you to just sit back and revel in the music with so many different techniques and explorations ranging from new age to classical. Well done!

I love "Working in the Coal Mine" by Robert Dahlstrom! Twangy & swingy with just enough grit! Tremendous!

"Looking Glass" by Maneli Jamal and Realizer (Matt C. White) hits that sweet spot where melody and harmony meet to completely capture your heart and carry you away. Just a beautiful piece that floats suspended by the fingers of two of today's best!

"Steam" by Barry Mcloughlin is a "train song" but oh so sweet with just a little melancholy! It's so tough to evoke the sound of a steam train with just a solo guitar, but Barry draws on his 50+ years of pickin' to accomplish just that with some steady Travis picking. Take a seat and let Barry carry you away in time on a steam train ride as you watch the landscape and memories roll by! Brilliant Barry!

"Constellations" by Allen & Bright is a step in a different direction for this team and what a beautiful leap! Ethereal and astral, this one should be "at the ready" for the next Perseids meteor shower or any beautiful clear night sky! This would be the perfect music to enhance any planetarium show!!!! What a wonderful creation!

"Gone" signals the return of Mike Howe after a creative break, and from the sound of this beautiful piece I would say that a huge creative dam has broken and is gushing with intense force. We are lucky to be in its path! An absolutely beautiful piece Mike!

Daryl Shawn, thank you again for making my Monday mornings a very special and exciting part of every week!
