"The most exciting playlist on Spotify" reloaded again for a great Monday morning! "This Week in Fingerstyle" curated by Daryl Shawn is where you'll find the absolute best that true "Indie" has to offer in the world of fingerstyle! Daryl does all the selecting of the tunes, I just make a few comments. Put your headphones on or AirPods in and disappear into these wonderful sounds as we check out what gems Daryl found for us this week!

First up is "Bridge Beyond" by the world fusion phenomenon Mathew Joseph! Mathew gives us a beauty that just oozes a mellow Hawaiian slack key sound and will lift you up and carry you away to the islands! Melodic, fresh and lilting, this one may have you finally booking that long-awaited trip the the islands or just kicking back and dreaming of palm trees and gentle breezes. Mahalo Mathew!

"Danza No. 1" by Alejandro Starosielski is a modern spanish classical piece at its finest. Absolutely wonderful and satsifying.

With "Air on a G String" Jürg Kindle gives us the well-recognized arrangement from Johann Sebastian Bach's Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D Major. A catchy tune originally dating back to approximately 1720 this one has stood the test of time and was even the inspiration for Procol Harum's "A Whiter Shade of Pale". Jürg Kindle gives a perfect rendition of this classic. Is classical music still relevant? Jürg Kindle provides an emphatic exclamation point with this piece: Yes, more than ever!!!!

"Karma Police" is the tremendously talented Glenn Roth's original giving us another fantastic piece that begins rumbling in the bass range almost giving the feeling of a baritone guitar.  Some really unusual and tantalizing chords keep you riveted through this slow tempo treat! Well done Glenn!

"She Fell Silent" by Agustin Amigo again hits that sweet spot where melancholy and sweetness merge to tug on the heart strings and send our heads swooning! Romantic, candlelit dinners are just waiting for this one. Perfect Valentine's Day dinner music!

"Time Together" by Lance Takamiya is an exceptionally evocative piece! Visions of Valentine's Day dinner and perfect for a slow, close dance after dinner allowing you to hold that special someone close as you move slowly around the room with an occasional slow twirl! Lance tapped into every romantic cell in his body for this treat!

"Journey" by Liad Abraham: Wow!!! Slow with unmistakable mideastern influence, a hint of gypsy, and a haunting main melody that Liad deftly weaves through treble back to bass in a slow uncertain path as if the air is clouded and the way uncertain but absolutely essential with no where to return to. Really fantastic piece Liad!

"Californication" cover by Nylon Wings (David Westin) and Rudi Salisbury takes the classic by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and dazzles us! This one is ready for the world stage by these two incredible musicians!

"As Promised: Adagio" by Daryl Shawn has Daryl's skill on full display with a minimalist piece that is very difficult to pull off at such a slow tempo where every note is larger than life and Daryl manages to gently place us figuratively as if on a Venice canal gondola gently floating at sunset with the lights slowly emerging from the shoreline. Just a beautiful piece!

And the final of "This Week's" new top ten is Chris Embers' "Drifting Away".  At only two minutes in length this beautiful piece manages to quickly pull you into the ether into an almost "out of body" feeling of weightlessness as if your very molecules are about to disperse into the air itself. Hang on tight when you listen to this one or you may literally drift away! Beautiful Chris!

And that completes the new top ten for this week and this decade!  You will now find all the past "This Week in Fingerstyle" music following this week's new ten so you can enjoy all that this wonderful playlist has brought to the world of fingerstyle! Enjoy! (Don't miss the rest of this extensive playlist beginning with the combined talents of Lance Allen and Collin Hill doing their rendition of John Mayer's "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room": breathtaking!)

Daryl Shawn, thank you again for making my Monday mornings a very special and exciting part of every week!
