"The most exciting playlist on Spotify" reloaded again for a great Monday morning! "This Week in Fingerstyle" curated by Daryl Shawn! Put your headphones on or AirPods in and disappear into these wonderful sounds!
First up is "Skye Boat Song (Theme From Outlander)" by the incomparable Stephen Wake! This wonderful rendition by Stephen is slowed down just a bit with beautiful phrasing and an airy feel. One of the best versions I've ever heard!
"Rummy Queen" by Lance Allen is a personal story tribute to his grandmother. Sweet, tender and perfectly recorded! Lance always delivers first-rate music and this is another of his finest!
"Siyah" by Murat Keyder has a middle eastern feel and flair to it that simply shines!
"The Space Between" by August Flendahl is another in August's fine work in nylon string guitar. A beautiful feel with tenderness and emotion!
"Colibri" by Eva Boranio is one of the frequent gems that Daryl Shawn finds that I never would have come across! It's one of the things that makes this playlist so exciting and enjoyable. A real treat!
"Canopy" by Realizer (Matt C. White) & Recalibration Machine is quite unique with a beautiful high register second line that sounds almost like a saw played perfectly (I mean that in a good sense). Unique with Matt playing great guitar as always!
"The Dawning Moment" by Don Latarski is a wonderful piece that floats somewhere between folk and new age with a sound just a little reminiscent of John Fahey. Really mesmerizing!
"D.a.d" by Akcel is a driving piece that carries you along like a freight train! Fantastic use of percussion that really carries this piece along as if you were riding on that train!
"Herencia de Valencia" by Nylonwings (David Westin) is a beautiful spanish-feel tune that whisks you away to a romantic spanish café! Beautiful David!
And "Vignette" by Alan Shoesmith wraps it up for this week with a perfectly titled piece that truly shows you just a little vignette from a beautiful day! I love the slight melancholy that resolves with hope!
